My Practice

  • My approach to therapy practice is an anti-oppressive approach to practice with an eclectic style that is client centred, client-led and is tailored to each individual’s needs.

My eclectic approach to therapy involves drawing on various therapeutic approaches and techniques to create a customized treatment plan for each individual. This approach recognizes that each person is unique and requires a personalized approach to therapy. Combining different therapeutic techniques provides a comprehensive treatment that addresses the diverse needs of each individual.

Client-centered and client-led therapy is a method that prioritizes the client's perspective, experiences, and goals in the therapeutic process. It recognizes that the client is the expert on their own experiences and needs and that the therapist's role is to support and facilitate their growth and self-discovery. This approach creates a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship that allows clients to take an active role in their healing journey.

An anti-oppressive, eclectic, client-centered, and client-led approach to therapy practice is a holistic and personalized method that prioritizes your needs and experiences. • It is completely normal to feel apprehensive about seeking support. It can be a daunting experience to open up and share your innermost thoughts and feelings with someone else. Talking to a trained professional can help you gain clarity, insight, and perspective on your situation. It is not uncommon to feel distressed at the beginning of therapy. This can be due to a number of factors, such as feeling vulnerable and exposed when discussing personal issues or past traumas. It is important to remember that these feelings are normal and that your therapist is there to support you through the process. However, it can take time to build a trusting relationship with your therapist and to feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. With time and patience, therapy can be a powerful tool in managing your mental health and well-being. If you are feeling overwhelmed or distressed during therapy, it is important to communicate this to your therapist. They may be able to adjust their approach or provide additional support to help you feel more comfortable. Remember, they are there to support you and help you reach your goals. If you are considering therapy, it is important to find a therapist who is a good fit for you. Look for someone who is trained in the areas you are seeking support for and who you feel comfortable talking to
