Cassie Cole (she/they)

Clinical Social Worker/Therapist

I am a clinical social worker/therapist. I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Memorial University, my Graduate Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions from Dalhousie University, my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Dalhousie University, and my Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a major in Women and Gender Studies from St. Francis Xavier University. I am a registered social worker and I have been a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW) since 2019 and the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) since 2023.

As a social worker, I have had the opportunity to work with adults, youth, and children all with a wide range of diverse positionalities, backgrounds, age groups, and complex needs. I have experience in mental health and addiction counselling, 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming/identity exploration, child welfare, and community social work.

My professional qualifications provide me with the knowledge and expertise needed to help people address their concerns and find effective treatments and coping strategies. I also have personal experiences related to mental illness and queer identities. I am a queer woman with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. This combination can be incredibly valuable as a social worker and clinical therapist. Having personal experience has given me unique insights into the challenges that people with mental health issues or those who are struggling or impacted by their sexual and/or gender identities may face, and has given me a better understanding of the impact it can have on individuals and their families.

Outside of my professional roles and education, in my personal life I enjoy spending time with my family, being creative through various mediums, and sharing my passion for reading queer books. I also enjoy advocacy work to promote safety and celebration of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
